We provide inspiring music education for young people and alternative provision for schools through creative, hands-on learning in a supportive environment. Our Music Production & Performance Programme combines songwriting, music production, recording, digital music technology, and performance skills to help students build confidence, creativity, and practical musical experience. Alongside our programmes, we offer private and small-group instrumental tuition, with opportunities to gain nationally recognised AQA Unit Awards and develop a lifelong passion for music.

The IMAP Team

Jack is a musician, educator, composer and songwriter with over 20 years of experience in performance and music education across the UK and the United States. A multi-instrumentalist specialising in drums, guitar and bass, he combines live performance with teaching and community music.

After studying Popular Music at Thames Valley University in London, Jack has performed alongside artists including Level 42, Roy Ayers, The Bees, New Mastersounds, Irene Blackman and José Claussell, appearing at venues and festivals including the Isle of Wight Festival, Bestival, Notting Hill Carnival, Lincoln Center, The Groove and Joe's Pub in NY.

Since 2006, Jack has taught students of all ages in schools, community programmes and private studios. His experience includes curriculum development for New York City public schools and leadership roles at Brooklyn Music School, Ocean Hill Collegiate, West End Day School and The Co-op School in Brooklyn. His teaching centres on creating inclusive, engaging environments that foster creativity, confidence and a lifelong connection to music.

Jack co-founded the Isle of Wight afrobeat collective Fellowship of Groove, launched the A.I.M.M. project at Ryde Aspire, and wrote music featured in the British film The Limelight (2012). He has most recently taught music at Ryde School for five years, serving as Head of Music for two. He continues to develop engaging music programmes that inspire students to perform, create and grow as confident musicians.

Jack Henson

Rob has spent more than 25 years working in the music industry as a producer, songwriter and mixer under the name Boe Weaver. Renowned for combining vintage analogue techniques with contemporary production, he has built a reputation for creating records with depth, character and emotional impact across indie, soul, folk and alternative music. 

Throughout his career, Rob has worked with an impressive range of artists including Rhys Lewis, Lauran Hibberd, Jalen Ngonda, Whyte Horses, Wolf People, Pete Molinari, 77:78, The Archie Bronson Outfit, Swan Levitt, Rcontributing as a producer, songwriter, recording engineer and mixer. His work has been released through major and independent labels and has received support from BBC Radio, streaming platforms and international press. 

Alongside artist development andoo Panes, Black Pines and The Estevans, record production, Rob has written extensively for sync and production music, creating music for television, film, advertising and commercial libraries. His broad musical palette and collaborative approach have made him a sought-after creative partner for both emerging and established artists. 

Today, Rob continues to produce records, write music and develop new creative projects from his UK-based studio, bringing decades of experience, technical expertise and a passion for authentic music-making to every project.

Jim is a music producer, songwriter and composer with more than 20 years of experience working across commercial releases, artist development and sync music. Working under the production name Boe Weaver, he has built a reputation for crafting records that balance technical excellence with authenticity, combining vintage recording techniques with a modern production approach.

Over the course of his career, Jim has collaborated with a diverse range of established and emerging artists, producing, writing and mixing music spanning indie, soul, folk, alternative and cinematic genres. His work has been released internationally and has earned support from radio, streaming platforms and music press, while his collaborative style has helped artists realise their creative vision.

Alongside record production, Jim has developed an extensive catalogue of music for television, film, advertising and commercial sync libraries. His ability to write across a broad range of styles has led to long-standing relationships with publishers, music supervisors and sync agencies, with music featured across a variety of media.

Based in the UK, Jim continues to produce records, compose for sync and work closely with artists from initial ideas through to finished release. His focus remains on creating timeless music with strong performances, thoughtful production and lasting impact.

Who are your programmes for?

Our Music Production & Performance Programme is designed for young people aged 11–13 and 14-16. We also provide alternative provision for schools and offer private and small-group instrumental tuition for a range of ages and abilities.

Do students need previous musical experience?

No. Our programmes are suitable for complete beginners as well as students with existing musical experience. Every learner is supported at their own pace.

What makes your programme different?

When do sessions take place?

Sessions are available weekdays:

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm

  • 1:00pm – 3:00pm

  • 4:00pm – 6:00pm

How many students are in each group?

We keep our groups small to ensure every student receives individual attention and plenty of opportunities to participate.

What should students bring?

Students simply need enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Any specific requirements will be shared before the programme begins.

Instrumental Tuition

Do you offer instrumental lessons?

Yes. We provide both private one-to-one lessons and small-group instrumental tuition.

Can instrumental lessons be booked separately?

Absolutely. Instrumental lessons can complement the Music Production & Performance Programme or be booked independently.

AQA Unit Awards

What is an AQA Unit Award?

The AQA Unit Award Scheme recognises individual achievements and practical skills. Students can choose to work towards an award during the programme.

Is the AQA Unit Award compulsory?

No. Participation is completely optional.

Is there an additional cost?

There is an annual AQA registration fee of £26.

Do you work with schools?

Yes. We provide creative alternative provision for schools, supporting students who benefit from a different learning environment.

What does your alternative provision include?

Can programmes be adapted for individual students?
